insitro is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Scientist for its Computational Biology team in South San Francisco, CA. This group analyzes cellular aspects of in-vitro biology to support drug development. The work focuses on linking biological phenotypes to human diseases and translating those connections into insights for therapeutic discovery.
What you will do
- Develop and improve machine learning methods for biological data analysis in areas such as network analysis, systems biology, graph-based modeling, causal structure learning, single cell omics, or imaging.
- Analyze high-throughput phenotypic screens and help create disease-relevant cell models.
- Work closely with experimental and computational biologists and other ML scientists to identify new phenotypes and design screening approaches.
- Integrate and interpret varied data types, including human cohort data, to uncover insights into disease mechanisms.
- Maintain high standards of scientific rigor and best practices in tool and analysis development.
- Report to the Head of Computational Biology and ML-Omics.
Requirements
- Significant experience developing machine learning methods for biological data.
- Background in one or more of: network analysis, systems biology, graph-based modeling, causal structure learning, single cell omics, or imaging modalities.
- Strong analytical skills for complex, high-dimensional datasets.
- Ability to collaborate across scientific disciplines.
- Dedication to scientific rigor and high-quality research.
- Available to work on-site at least three days per week in South San Francisco.
