POSITION SUMMARY

In the role of Senior Optical Manufacturing Test Engineer with a focus on software automation, you will be instrumental in developing test automation and networking protocols. You will validate intricate systems at Layer 1 and Layer 2 using advanced tools like Ixia while also creating Python-based testing frameworks. This vital position will contribute to the quality assurance of Lumilens’ photonic components, modules, and systems, merging hands-on production testing with software test development and reporting, and supporting both new product introductions (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing.

Collaboration with optical design, hardware, and manufacturing teams will be crucial as you engage in design for manufacturability, calibration, characterization, and troubleshooting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with design engineering and manufacturing teams to define and create test software for high-volume production of premium optical components.

  • Take ownership of end-to-end manufacturing testing: Ensure all modifications and enhancements to test and manufacturing software adhere to change control and established Quality Management System (QMS) protocols including software revision control, bug tracking, tester updates, regression testing, and test logging.

  • Maintain current documentation and test specifications, employing systematic processes for managing test cases, results, and defects.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in version control systems such as GitHub or Bitbucket.

  • Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing on Layer 1 and Layer 2 systems.
