Emotainizioengage is hiring a Senior Project Manager for Meetings and Events, specializing in Sourcing and Contracting. This hybrid role is based in Manchester, with a requirement to work from the nearest office (Ashby-de-la-Zouch, London, or Manchester) at least two days each week. The position reports to the Senior Director of Meetings and Events and does not include direct reports.
Role overview
This position focuses on leading the early planning and sourcing phases for global meetings and events. The Senior Project Manager will define project requirements, align venue sourcing with client needs and budgets, and coordinate the entire venue sourcing process in partnership with the Emota Venue Sourcing Team. Responsibilities include delivering detailed briefs, managing shortlists, presenting venue recommendations, and overseeing venue selection and contract negotiation.
What you will do
- Lead planning for global meetings and events, setting project objectives and requirements.
- Align venue sourcing with client specifications, budgets, and event priorities.
- Coordinate the venue sourcing process with internal teams.
- Deliver briefs, manage shortlists, and present venue options to clients.
- Oversee venue selection, negotiate terms, finalize contracts, and prepare budgets.
- Manage hotel contracting, including working with client hotel agreements as needed.
- Work with hotel partners to establish fair terms that reduce cancellation and attrition risks.
- Plan and communicate proactively to avoid penalties and ensure contracts meet client needs.
- Mentor colleagues on best practices in venue contracting and supplier management.
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams throughout each project.
- Travel internationally to attend industry events as required.
Requirements
- Significant experience in project management for meetings and events, with a focus on venue sourcing and contracting.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing contracts and supplier relationships.
- Comfort working with global clients and coordinating across multiple teams.
- Ability to mentor others and share best practices.
- Willingness to travel internationally for industry events.
