QUALIFICATIONS:Essential Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, combining public accounting and in-house corporate accounting. At least 5 years of experience with ERP/General Ledger Systems, preferably NetSuite. Minimum of 5 years in revenue functions, specifically ASC 606 and accounts receivable. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with strong analytical skills for navigating large datasets. Experience in accounting automation and implementation/integration. Proven project management skills with an ability to enhance operational efficiency.

Role Overview

Sigma Computing is hiring a Senior Revenue Accounting Manager for its San Francisco, CA office. This role reports to the Senior Director of Accounting and supports daily operations as well as monthly accounting tasks. The position focuses on account reconciliations, maintaining the revenue subledger, and ensuring compliance throughout the revenue cycle. Candidates should bring a strong grasp of US GAAP, especially revenue recognition and sales tax compliance, along with a proactive and detail-oriented approach. Experience with automation processes is a plus.

What You Will Do

  • Review and analyze customer contracts, including modifications, to confirm compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Prepare supporting schedules that document contract analyses and revenue calculations, ensuring alignment with technical accounting conclusions and company policies.
  • Oversee billing operations for accuracy and timeliness, including reviewing sales taxes on invoices.
  • Conduct periodic sales tax compliance reviews to assess potential exposure.
  • Maintain current and accurate revenue accounting records within financial systems.
  • Support the month-end close process through journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue fluctuation analysis.
  • Reconcile transactions from multiple marketplaces into the ERP and CMS systems.
  • Work with FP&A to support revenue forecasting and Budget vs. Actual analyses.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Respond to ad hoc management requests related to the revenue cycle.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within daily operations.
