Your Responsibilities: Perform daily operational and DevOps tasks on Wikimedia’s public-facing infrastructure, including deployment, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting. Utilize and implement configuration management and deployment tools, such as Puppet and Kubernetes. Drive continuous improvement by automating the installation, configuration, and maintenance of services across our platform. Collaborate closely with product teams to help them design scalable functionalities for our users by advising on the architectural design of new services. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation with the broader SRE team, engaging in incident response, diagnosis, and follow-ups on system outages or alerts within Wikimedia’s production infrastructure. Work with a global, cross-functional team in an asynchronous communication environment. Mentor and guide peers in your areas of technical and operational expertise. Willingness to travel 1-2 times a year for in-person events and team meetings.
