Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.8+ years of professional software engineering experience. Proficiency in Python programming. Strong command of Git version control. Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including requirements gathering, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration. Excellent communication skills and experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (e.g., scientists, analysts, and domain experts). A genuine curiosity and passion for nuclear energy, closing the nuclear fuel cycle, and sustainable energy solutions. Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in Rust programming language. Experience with Typescript/Javascript, particularly Svelte framework. Background in mentoring and developing small software teams or organizations. Experience in designing and operating large-scale data collection and analysis pipelines.

Position Overview

As a senior member of our fast-paced startup, you will take on a variety of challenges in reactor design and analysis. While a nuclear background is not a prerequisite, a strong desire to learn and a curious mindset are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage systems for the efficient storage and retrieval of reactor data and physics results at scale.
  • Architect and oversee CI/CD pipelines for multiphysics analyses, ensuring the reliability, observability, and reproducibility of complex simulations.
  • Create tools and platforms that empower reactor engineers to visualize, compare, and assess reactor designs effectively.
  • Develop physics kernels to tackle unresolved issues and enhance the performance of existing models.
  • Implement reactor optimization strategies and statistical experiments to drive design improvements.
  • Mentor fellow engineers, establish technical direction, and contribute to cultivating a robust engineering culture.
