Responsibilities1. Strategic Design & Technical LeadershipHigh-Precision Consumables: Spearhead the architecture and design of advanced biotech consumables, with a focus on Injection Molded (IM) plastics, over-molding, LSR, and various assembly techniques such as ultrasonic welding and laser bonding. Fluidic Integration: Propel the development of fluidic and microfluidic systems by collaborating with fluidic subject matter experts (SMEs), ensuring smooth integration between consumable cartridges and permanent instrument hardware. Advanced Simulation: Employ FEA, tolerance analysis, and CFD techniques to forecast component behavior and ensure consistent performance under laboratory conditions. Regulatory Excellence: Design with adherence to ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and RUO. Contribute to the formation of Design History Files (DHF).2. End-to-End Project OwnershipConcept to Production: Assume complete responsibility for essential subsystems from initial concept through to high-volume manufacturing (HVM). DFX Leadership: Advocate for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), collaborating closely with toolmakers and contract manufacturers to optimize tool designs and strategies. Vendor Management: Serve as the primary technical liaison for external molding partners and material suppliers, ensuring that quality and performance standards are upheld.3. Innovation & Problem SolvingIP Generation: Identify and pursue patentable advancements in fluid handling, sealing technologies, and consumable-to-instrument interfaces. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into product failures to drive continuous improvement.
