Key Responsibilities:Lead, develop, and expand an engineering team focused on delivering runtime enforcement outcomes in a high-severity, cross-organizational domain; establish project scope, service level agreements (SLAs), and phased roadmaps. Establish a single source of truth for scope, operating models, and robust mechanisms for enforcement. Lead multi-year, multi-team projects that define how Databricks enforces Unity Catalog at runtime across various compute types and engines. Introduce tools to enhance automation and operability of services. Leverage your extensive experience to prevent and investigate potential issues.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the Unity Catalog Runtime Enforcement initiative. This role involves building and fortifying the runtime enforcement layer for Unity Catalog, ensuring secure and consistent authorization and data access across Databricks compute, engines, and cloud environments. This initiative aims to minimize incidents and simplify customer decision-making by unifying enforcement semantics.
