Essential Attributes:Extensive programming experience in languages such as Python, C/C++, and Rust. Proven experience in designing, developing, debugging, testing, profiling, and optimizing commercial-quality simulation software. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Must-have Skills:Over 5 years of experience delivering high-performance, commercial-quality models and simulation software in collaboration with applied scientists. Strong mathematical and analytical background. High proficiency in various modelling paradigms and numerical methods, including equation-based modelling (EBM), discrete-event simulation (DES), and statistical models. Experience in designing, building, and optimizing simulation platforms for scientific or engineering applications. Familiarity with HPC, hardware acceleration, and parallel processing techniques. Fluency in Python and at least one of C/C++ or Rust.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our talented team of scientists and engineers to design the next generation of our design verification environment.
  • Take ownership of essential components in our modelling and simulation pipeline, working closely with the quantum team to enhance and optimize their workflows.
  • Develop reliable, well-documented, and high-quality software solutions.
  • Create intuitive and user-centric software tools and libraries for both internal and external development teams.
  • Assist in the testing, optimization, validation, and deployment of various models and simulations on UQ’s HPC and cloud servers.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of design trade-offs across UQ’s physics models, iQPU chips, quantum algorithms, compilation stacks, and hardware processes.
