Knowledge of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Temporal, Kubernetes, Docker). Background in large-scale database management (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) and data processing. Proven history of working alongside cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.

Software Engineer - Robotics and Autonomous Systems

Join Scale AI's Robotics division, where we tackle the data challenges faced in Physical AI across Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, and Computer Vision. In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to the development of production systems for robotics data collection, model training workflows, and evaluation frameworks. You'll have the chance to take ownership of essential components of our robotics platform, collaborate with leading robotics and AV clients, and influence the evolution of embodied AI systems.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement large-scale data processing pipelines for robotics and autonomous vehicle datasets.
  • Create machine learning training and fine-tuning pipelines utilizing Scale's robotics data.
  • Engage with both backend (Python, Node.js, C++) and frontend (React, TypeScript) technologies to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Develop tools and real-time systems for data collection, teleoperation, model assessment, data curation, and annotation.
  • Collaborate closely with robotics and AV stakeholders to grasp their technical requirements and drive product innovation.
  • Establish robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks for robotics models and data quality assurance.
  • Address complex, late-stage industry challenges in real-time robotic systems, paying meticulous attention to timing constraints and data integrity, often necessitating in-depth research, academic literature review, and collaboration with robotics vendors.
  • Partner with machine learning engineers and researchers to transition robotics research into production.
  • Deliver features rapidly while ensuring system reliability and performance.
