Mission
As a Staff Data & AI Technical Solutions Engineer at Databricks, you will take the lead in delivering innovative Data & AI solutions to address customer challenges. This role involves deep engagement with production data pipelines, AI workflows, streaming data ingestion, and beyond. Your extensive experience with Data & AI architectures will enable you to manage complex production environments while ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product engineering and customer account management, to deliver exceptional results, particularly during critical production downtimes. Your role will also involve empowering customers with the knowledge and expertise needed to construct efficient architectures and reliable services to realize their strategic objectives using the Databricks platform. Reporting to a TSE manager, you will be recognized as a technical leader within a world-class global support engineering organization, celebrated for your depth of knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities in the most intricate customer scenarios.
The impact you will have:
- Take charge of driving technical solutions for a wide range of complex issues encountered by Databricks customers, including escalated and critical situations.
- Conduct in-depth code-level analysis and scrutinize the systems architecture of customer workloads to resolve issues related to Databricks products, including Spark core internals, Spark SQL, Delta, DLT, and Model Serving.
- Act as a strategic customer support advisor, effectively addressing escalations during incidents with customer stakeholders, swiftly identifying mitigations and solutions for advanced use cases, and proactively helping to avert future customer challenges.
- Enhance the usability of Databricks products and bolster the stability of customer production environments by collaborating with Engineering and Backline Support teams to pinpoint opportunities for product enhancements.
- Establish yourself as a recognized technical authority and leader within the Databricks platform and production systems, mentoring others to disseminate your expertise.
What we look for:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines, with prior experience in Spark being essential.
- Proficient in SQL databases or data warehousing solutions.
