Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, and a strong background in data science methodologies. You should have extensive experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R. A solid understanding of data visualization tools and experience with MLOps practices is also essential.

About the role

The Data Science team at Asana plays a crucial role in advancing our mission by promoting a data-centric approach to shaping our product and business strategies. As a member of the Marketing Data Science team, you will serve as the leading technical authority, leveraging data and advanced scientific methods to create scalable, cutting-edge solutions that enhance Asana’s marketing impact. You will spearhead the technical roadmap for data science, working closely with marketing leadership and the wider Asana data community to identify innovative opportunities. Your role will involve providing technical guidance and hands-on mentorship, elevating the team’s technical standards and influencing overall business strategy through exemplary modeling and experimental design.

This position is based in our New York City office with a hybrid in-office schedule. Standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on Wednesdays. Depending on your role and team collaboration, working from home on Fridays may also be an option. Further details regarding in-office requirements will be shared during the interview process.

Your key contributions will include:

  • Leading the technical execution of the Marketing Data Science roadmap, acting as the Solution Architect for core projects such as Media Mix Modeling (MMM), User Lifetime Value, Causal Inferences, Multi-touch Attribution, and Spend Optimization engines.
  • Serving as the primary technical expert for the Marketing Data Science team, establishing high standards for modeling quality, code integrity, data pipeline architecture, and solution scalability.
  • Collaborating with marketing leadership to explore further integration of data science into Asana's business strategies.
  • Providing hands-on technical mentorship and support to a diverse team of data scientists, assisting them in overcoming complex modeling challenges and establishing robust ML Ops.
  • Creating and standardizing MLOps tools and processes that enable efficient and reliable deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of multiple models in production.
  • Conducting research, prototyping, and advocating for innovative capabilities and advanced models in the marketing data science field, demonstrating their potential advantages and leading their implementation.
  • Assuming a leadership role within the broader Asana Data Community, interacting with Data Engineering and Platform teams to influence the infrastructure necessary to support marketing data products.
