Ascension Publishing Group is hiring a Strategic Marketing Manager for Trade and Children's Books. This fully remote position is open to candidates based in the United States. The role centers on shaping and executing marketing strategies that drive both revenue and reader engagement across a varied portfolio of books. It combines hands-on campaign work with high-level planning and requires close collaboration with teams across the company.
Portfolio Positioning and Go-to-Market Strategy
- Develop and manage go-to-market strategies for each book, focusing on audience targeting, positioning, messaging, pricing, and channel selection throughout the lifecycle.
- Research and analyze target audiences, including demographics, engagement channels, motivations, and outreach methods.
- Assess and choose the most effective mix of marketing channels and tactics for each title, balancing investment with expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with Editorial and Product Development teams early in the process to inform positioning and ensure launch readiness using marketing insights.
- Conduct market analysis, review competitors, and evaluate trends to identify opportunities within Catholic publishing.
Campaign Development and Execution
- Translate positioning strategies into integrated marketing campaigns across email, social media, paid ads, organic content, and retail channels.
- Write persuasive copy for marketing assets, including emails, website content, ads, and social posts. Provide clear creative direction to the Marketing Producer.
- Oversee and optimize paid advertising on platforms such as Meta and Amazon, focusing on audience targeting, creative performance, and return on ad spend.
- Manage campaign timelines, anticipate challenges, and make timely decisions to improve results.
- Review and approve all creative assets, including copy, video, and images, from the Marketing Producer and external partners.
- Lead product launches, coordinate internal teams, and support authors with marketing and PR strategies.
Amazon and Channel Strategy
- Own the Books team's marketing strategy on Amazon, ensuring strong visibility and engagement for all titles.
