About the role
As a Supply Chain Intern at Ascension Publishing Group, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our publishing supply chain. This position is essential for ensuring that our books and related products are produced, stocked, and shipped accurately and on schedule. Your responsibilities will include inventory tracking, managing purchase orders, coordinating fulfillment, and generating operational reports. We seek a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is adept at working with data in Excel or Google Sheets.
This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the essential processes that keep our publishing operations running smoothly, from overseeing print runs and inbound shipments to managing fulfillment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring purchase orders (POs), supplier timelines, and shipment statuses.
- Support inventory management by identifying stockouts, backorders, and excess inventory.
- Maintain and update supply chain trackers and reports.
- Analyze data related to:
- lead times
- order accuracy
- freight/shipping performance
- inventory turnover and on-hand levels
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, customer service, accounting, etc.) to address order or inventory challenges.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance tracker systems, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
- Prepare weekly summaries or dashboards for leadership as needed.
- Support general administrative tasks related to supply chain operations.
