As a System and Network Engineer, you will take charge of managing and maintaining IT infrastructure across diverse client environments. Your role will be pivotal in providing technical expertise in both system and network administration, ensuring the seamless operation and security of on-premises and cloud-based systems.
The ideal candidate will have robust hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure, and various firewall technologies, coupled with a profound understanding of virtualization platforms like VMWare. Familiarity with remote access tools, monitoring systems, and ticketing applications is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network and System Administration:
- Administer and manage client network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies from vendors like Cisco, SonicWall, and Palo Alto.
- Maintain server environments, both on-premises and in the cloud, utilizing Windows Server (2008-2022) and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Support and manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure environments, including user management, group policies, and cloud-based services.
- Implement and maintain firewalls and VPN solutions such as Cisco AnyConnect, Meraki, SonicWall, and Fortinet, ensuring secure remote access and data protection.
- Security and Compliance:
- Monitor and manage security protocols, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, and anti-virus solutions.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and patch management to ensure adherence to security best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for system, network, and application issues.
- Utilize remote management tools to diagnose and resolve issues promptly, minimizing disruption to client operations.
- Troubleshoot a range of problems across various client environments, from simple desktop issues to complex network challenges.
- Virtualization and Cloud Services:
- Administer VMWare environments, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual servers.
- Offer expertise in cloud services, particularly Azure, to support client needs for scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Collaboration and Ticket Management:
- Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to deliver effective IT solutions and support.
- Utilize ticketing systems such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, and ServiceNow to track, manage, and resolve support requests efficiently.
