Skills and QualificationsMinimum qualifications:4+ years of technical sourcing experience, preferably in high-growth startups or competitive technical environments. Proven success in sourcing specialized roles where candidates need to be actively found, not merely filtered. Familiarity with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, GEM, Juicebox, or equivalent platforms. Exceptional research, mapping, and market intelligence skills. Capability to evaluate technical candidate quality based on GitHub profiles or research papers. About the Role

We are excited to welcome our first Technical Sourcer, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Thinking Machines has a robust pipeline of outstanding candidates for technical positions. You will craft a strategic sourcing plan that tackles the dual challenges of identifying top talent and engaging them with our company. This position requires building relationships, deep understanding of technical fields, and a long-term focus.

What You’ll Do

  • Map the talent landscape for researchers and engineers across various companies, open-source communities, research labs, and technical ecosystems.
  • Conduct high-volume outreach through social media and direct communication channels.
  • Organize events that enhance our recruiting pipeline, such as coding competitions, networking dinners, and conference participation.
  • Foster community engagement through outreach, in-person networking, and referrals.
  • Maintain a candidate database that provides valuable context for recruiters and tracks the long-term performance of our candidate pipeline.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to translate staffing needs into an effective sourcing strategy.
  • Help build and maintain our reputation to attract the best talent to Thinking Machines.
