We are currently seeking a dynamic Value Strategy Consultant to foster strong relationships with brand planning teams and serve as the authoritative strategic voice on allocation performance. In this pivotal role, you will not be responsible for managing the allocation engine or developing dashboards; instead, your focus will be on interpreting data insights, understanding performance outcomes, and recommending actionable changes through automated diagnostic tools.
This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and advisory capabilities, positioning you as a fiduciary advocate for brands. You will proactively identify challenges, drive solutions, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of Business Performance:
- Facilitate bi-weekly reviews of allocation performance with brand planning teams, addressing key metrics such as service levels, sales, gross margin (GM$), gross margin percentage (GM%), GMROI, sell-through rates, and allocation accuracy.
- Deliver comprehensive KPI diagnostics that analyze not only outcomes but also the underlying causes and proposed actions.
- Prepare quarterly business reviews for executive leadership, summarizing allocation performance trends and strategic recommendations.
- Diagnostic Analysis & Issue Identification:
- Utilize existing dashboards and alert systems to track allocation results across all brands at the store-SKU level.
- Collaborate with the technical team to enhance or create tools as needed.
- Proactively identify potential issues such as falling sell-through rates, incorrect inventory distribution, and stockout patterns that might indicate underlying problems.
- Break down KPI shortfalls into demand-side and supply-side drivers to identify actionable root causes.
- Analyze performance across various product lifecycle stages and customize diagnostic frameworks accordingly.
- Action & Accountability:
- Convert diagnostic findings into specific improvement tickets for vendors, establishing clear success criteria to drive enhancements.
- Define requirements for in-house diagnostic tools and collaborate with the technical team on prioritization.
- Provide guidance to brand planning teams on allocation strategy decisions such as store eligibility, distribution center holdback levels, size curve adjustments, and end-of-season replenishment throttling.
