THE JOB
As a Veterinary Sonographer, you will play a vital role in providing ultrasound support across VEG hospitals and training facilities. Collaborating closely with our emergency veterinarians, you will conduct same-day ultrasound scans for pets in urgent need. Your adaptability and eagerness to learn will be crucial as you encounter a variety of patient cases and techniques on a daily basis. Additionally, you will help coordinate educational opportunities and ultrasound training for your home and regional hospitals, inspiring your fellow VEGgies to enhance their ultrasound skills and stepping in to assist in the hospital as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate training at your home hospital and regional locations.
- Build strong relationships with teleconsultation radiologists providing feedback on your studies (e.g., Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice, etc.).
- Ensure all training content aligns with VEG's culture, mission, and vision, representing accurate and current sonographic techniques.
- Track skills of the doctor and nursing teams using a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist.
- Engage in self-assessment and program evaluation to enhance VEG’s ultrasound training initiatives.
- Regularly meet with the medical director to discuss training and development.
