We are in search of a Vice President of Engineering to steer our technical division through an exciting phase of growth. This pivotal role emphasizes the expansion of our engineering team, the establishment of a clear technical vision, and the delivery of a premier AI-driven product that transforms the operational landscape for manufacturers.
The Role
As a direct report to the CEO, you will be responsible for shaping and executing Amper’s engineering strategy. You will lead and cultivate a team of engineers, implementing practices and systems that facilitate swift and dependable delivery, while ensuring that our platform's technical underpinnings can evolve alongside our ambitions. This hands-on leadership position requires you to make vital architectural decisions, enhance productivity, and foster an environment where engineers can excel.
Location
Although Amper embraces remote work, this senior leadership position greatly benefits from direct collaboration. We prefer candidates located in or around Seattle, San Francisco, or Chicago, though this is not a strict requirement. Only US-based candidates will be considered.
What You’ll Do
- Technical Strategy & Architecture
- Develop and implement a long-term technical strategy focused on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Oversee the architecture across the technology stack, including AI/ML systems, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
- Introduce practices and tools that enable rapid movement while ensuring quality and security.
- Engineering Leadership & Scale
- Lead, mentor, and expand our engineering team, currently comprising five engineers, with significant growth anticipated over the next 12 to 24 months.
- Build and sustain a robust engineering culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and speed.
- Establish clear processes for technical delivery, sprint planning, and cross-team alignment.
- Ensure engineering teams are equipped to provide high-quality, customer-facing products on schedule and at scale.
