Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Utilize our specially crafted curriculum to facilitate small group classes for advanced students in mathematics.
  • Stimulate Student Participation: Actively engage students through interactive class discussions and collaborative learning sessions.
  • Manage Classroom Dynamics: Skillfully oversee a classroom of up to 16 students.
  • Assess and Provide Constructive Feedback: Evaluate student assessments and offer insightful feedback.
  • Foster Relationships: Build meaningful connections with students and their families, positively influencing their educational journey.
  • Encourage a Passion for Learning: Inspire students to develop a love for mathematics and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring is essential.
  • Preferred experience in classroom teaching at the K-12 level.

Not Required:

  • A formal teaching credential is not necessary for this position.

Work Schedule:

  • As an after-school program, AoPS Academy offers classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during after-school hours (starting as early as 4 PM) and/or on weekends.
  • Minimum commitment of approximately 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
  • Each course meets once a week for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Location:

This position is in-person at our Upper West Side campus. Candidates must reside in New York City or the surrounding area and be able to commute to our location.

Compensation and Benefits:
