Join our dynamic team at Insomnia Cookies as an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM), a pivotal role designed to cultivate future Bakery Operations Managers. In this position, you will execute bakery operations with a sense of urgency, precision, and accountability, while honing the leadership skills necessary to independently manage a bakery.

The ABOM role merges hands-on operational excellence with talent development, administrative responsibilities, and team leadership. Acting as an essential extension of the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM), you will be prepared to take full ownership of bakery operations when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution
• Oversee core bakery operations, including inventory management, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative tasks
• Ensure strict compliance with product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience standards
• Assist with ordering, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing shrink control
• Contribute to schedule creation and labor management to achieve operational targets

Talent & Team Development
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members
• Provide consistent coaching and real-time performance feedback
• Hold team members accountable to standards while fostering a culture of growth and development
• Ensure onboarding and training programs adhere to company standards

Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM
• Exhibit urgency, accountability, and operational discipline
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify operational gaps and implement effective solutions
• Maintain operational continuity during leadership transitions or staff shortages
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Capable of executing all BOM-level administrative and operational tasks independently
• Bakery is fully staffed, trained, and operating at optimal standards
• Strong culture of accountability and consistency within the team
• Acts as a dependable operational leader during any coverage scenario
• Demonstrates clear readiness and potential for advancement to a BOM role
