Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure safety while collaborating with all members of the construction team. Conduct acceptance and maintenance testing of electrical equipment. Install, commission, and maintain protection and control equipment in medium to high-voltage substations. Interpret blueprints, analyze test reports, and recommend corrective actions. Work with high-voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and control circuits for protection, indication, and monitoring systems. Supervise, mentor, and train junior technicians. Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments as necessary. Familiarity with various manufacturers' test equipment, including TTR, Omicron secondary test sets, winding resistance, Omicron CPC 100, and CT saturator. ScheduleOur schedule rotations vary between 7 days on / 7 days off or 7 days on / 14 days off. Standard work hours are 10 hours per day (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.), with overtime paid at time and a half after 10 hours per day and 40 hours per week.

Your Role

As a Commissioning Technologist reporting to the Commissioning Manager, you will be instrumental in commissioning and testing primary and secondary power equipment in the field. Your responsibilities will encompass the maintenance of medium to high-voltage substation power delivery equipment, including breakers, switchgears, circuit breakers, relays, and transformers. Additionally, you will mentor and educate Apprentices in blueprint interpretation, risk management, and industry best practices. Your role will also involve setting up and operating both standard and specialized test equipment to assess and analyze the performance of power delivery systems on-site.
