Experience: 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in pulp and paper, power generation, or heavy industry. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. Professional Engineer (P. E.) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous. Competencies:Proficient in applying mathematical concepts and engineering principles to design, analysis, and reliability assessments. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and apply logical reasoning. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operational support in electrical systems.

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering to join our team at Pixelle's state-of-the-art facility in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania. This pivotal role entails managing and executing mill capital and major repair initiatives, providing essential technical support, and offering expertise in power systems within the Utilities Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and uphold all safety and environmental standards at the facility.
  • Conduct preliminary studies on potential capital projects with significant business implications.
  • Develop and adjust dynamic capital and repair plans in response to the evolving needs of the mill.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure successful implementation of capital and repair projects, emphasizing safety, quality, cost, and timely delivery.
  • Oversee and prioritize assigned projects through the Engineering department.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects from initial concept through to evaluation, estimation, design, and commissioning.
  • Provide expert knowledge in power systems, including design, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operations support for turbine generators, excitation systems, high-voltage power distribution, relay protection, and more.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues within the mill.
  • Supervise outside contractors to ensure compliance with safety, code, and technical standards.
  • Support the Legal and Purchasing departments in developing contracts for high-cost equipment and labor.
  • Work with Finance on tax, capital, and financial justification matters.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and capital asset records.
  • Mentor junior engineers, interns, and co-ops in their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards in all Engineering and Maintenance activities.

Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive project success.
