What You Will Do

As an Electromechanical Hardware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the mechanical development of next-generation rail systems, from initial design through prototyping, validation, and production. You will join our engineering team, reporting to the Hardware Lead, and will work across various disciplines, mechanical, electrical, thermal, and RF, to ensure that designs are reliable, manufacturable, and compliant with standards. Your role will be pivotal in connecting engineering, operations, and external suppliers, ensuring that electrical and cabling layouts are optimized for system integration. Your contributions will advance OTIV's autonomous rail technology, helping to reduce emissions, enhance safety, and reshape transportation's future.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As an Electromechanical Hardware Engineer at OTIV, you will:

  • Design mechanical hardware mounts, enclosures, and integration components using CAD tools (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, CREO).
  • Lead product development from concept to validation and production, applying DFM/DFA/DFT/DFR principles.
  • Define and implement test and validation plans through certification processes, including FAI, thermal testing, vibration, IP, EMC, and mechanical reliability.
  • Select materials and components based on durability, thermal, and compliance criteria.
  • Develop and document installation manuals, BoMs, mechanical/electrical interface overviews, and technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain electrical integration diagrams between our systems and tram/train interfaces.
  • Manage suppliers and ensure the timely delivery of components.
