As the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Lead, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s environmental health and safety programs and policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. You will manage the safety equipment inventory, conduct regular safety inspections, and oversee hazardous waste disposal vendors. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments to provide training in emergency response and hazardous materials management. You will also monitor compliance with environmental regulations and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, promptly informing the leadership team of necessary corrective actions in the presence of environmental health and safety risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate EHS activities, ensuring the achievement of quality and financial objectives.
Direct EHS projects, including planning and scheduling to meet defined goals. Develop both short-term and long-term EHS objectives and propose recommendations to management.
Ensure all necessary permits for environmental and regulatory compliance are secured and maintained.
Implement appropriate corrective actions to address health and safety hazards.
Oversee EHS programs, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and reviewing safety requirements.
Create and maintain both electronic and printed reports and records, and may develop new reporting systems as needed.
Collaborate with senior management to set and implement technical, schedule, quality, and financial objectives for EHS programs, aligning them with strategic business goals.
Serve as the primary representative for the organization, engaging with line management, program managers, technical personnel, and external partners.
