Qualifications

Required Technical Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role, with a strong grasp of Agile principles and practices. Scrum Master certification is a plus. Proven experience serving as a Scrum Master for multiple globally distributed teams. Expert knowledge of JIRA and Confluence is essential. Familiarity with OKRs and their implementation within JIRA. Able to inspire teams to take ownership of their processes. Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the capability to engage with all levels of a global and diverse organization. Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. A strong drive for results, demonstrating resourcefulness in challenges.

At Guidepoint, we are on the lookout for a skilled Scrum Master to join our dynamic team within the Toronto-based Technology Hub. This Hub is the heart of our burgeoning Data/AI team, committed to establishing a state-of-the-art data infrastructure that propels advanced analytics and fosters the development of responsible AI. This strategic initiative is a cornerstone of Guidepoint’s vision, aimed at cultivating cutting-edge Generative AI and analytical capabilities that will support our Next-Gen research enablement platform and data products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate all key Scrum ceremonies and planning events for multiple teams, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Guide teams in understanding feature estimation and capabilities, ensuring realistic commitments.
  • Collaborate with external teams to eliminate blocking issues, keeping Scrum teams aligned with their objectives. Represent Scrum teams in relevant ceremonies, including Scrum of Scrums.
  • Partner with Product Owners to establish OKRs linked to epics in JIRA and maintain a robust backlog.
  • Implement a standardized set of agile metrics across teams to enhance performance in quality, predictability, flow, and velocity, while keeping the team focused on daily, sprint, and release objectives.
  • Mentor and motivate team members while driving continuous process improvements.
  • Facilitate retrospectives to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and take ownership of actionable items.
