Role overview
The Junior DevOps Engineer will work in a hybrid capacity from Chantilly, VA, combining remote days with on-site collaboration. This position focuses on Kubernetes and supports the migration of traditional applications to a containerized infrastructure.
Main responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure to enable migration from legacy systems to containers.
- Collaborate with development teams to review application architecture and suggest changes for Kubernetes compatibility.
- Plan and execute migration strategies that minimize downtime and ensure smooth transitions to Kubernetes environments.
- Integrate data from various sources, including internal systems, APIs, and third-party tools, within Kubernetes.
- Develop and implement data protection measures such as encryption, access controls, and disaster recovery plans for containerized applications.
- Manage migration projects, ensuring data integrity and accuracy at each phase.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define and deliver Kubernetes-related projects and initiatives.
- Document application architecture, data flows, and Kubernetes infrastructure details.
Location and schedule
This hybrid role is based in Chantilly, VA, and includes both remote and on-site work.
