Augsburg University's Department of Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science is actively seeking applications for adjunct faculty positions to instruct undergraduate courses in 2026.This recruitment aims to create a talent pool from which instructors may be selected as teaching opportunities arise in Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2026. Candidates from this pool may be contacted on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.Course offerings will vary by term, and most classes are scheduled during the day, 2-3 days a week. Instructors will not only teach and grade assignments but will also be responsible for responding to student inquiries via email, maintaining regular office hours, communicating student progress, and coordinating with the course lead. A detailed course syllabus, including a calendar, textbook selections, homework assignments, sample activities, exams, and shared office space, will typically be provided. Most courses will be delivered in-person at our Minneapolis campus, requiring approximately 12-15 hours of commitment per week for 15-16 weeks.Successful candidates will demonstrate a high level of intercultural competency alongside a dedication to inclusive practices and authentic representation.Adjunct faculty salaries and conditions are governed by the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284.
