Key Responsibilities
- Provide interpretation services in open court and other judicial departments for non-English speaking individuals.
- Interpret questions posed to non-English speaking clients from English to the interpreter's language specialty, both in person and via telephone.
- Translate essential documents, notices, and pamphlets to assist non-English speaking clients.
- Interpret written or verbal instructions for non-English speaking individuals.
- Translate correspondence as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality of all information acquired during interpretation sessions, adhering to professional ethical standards.
- Prepare weekly reports and participate in regular meetings with supervisors to discuss progress.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new interpreters.

Qualifications and Skills
- AOPC Certified Court Interpreter or recognized certification from another state certifying authority.
- Minimum of two to four years of experience providing interpretation or translation services in a judicial setting.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
- Completion of a panel review and interview process following initial qualifications.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- City residency is not mandatory.
- This is a full-time, on-site position.
