The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician will play a vital role in providing operational support, troubleshooting, and optimizing processes for natural gas and NGL pipelines, as well as associated compressor stations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate a variety of instrumentation and electrical equipment, including VFDs, switchgear, transformers, power supply systems, pumps, motors, and various instrumentation tools.
- Identify and procure equipment based on application requirements such as power supply, flow, temperature, pressure, and area classification.
- Perform loop checks and calibrate field instrumentation effectively.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical circuits and equipment rated up to 480 VAC.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment including pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary systems.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance tasks by electrically isolating motors, switchgear, and executing LOTO procedures in accordance with company policies.
- Interpret P&ID drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and operational manuals.
- Act as the I&E Lead on small capital projects, overseeing the work of third-party contractors.
- Collaborate effectively with Turbine Technicians, Automation Control Specialists, Operations, Engineers, and others for maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Support training initiatives related to instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations as per company and industry standards.
- Participate in safety training, maintain necessary certifications, exemplify high safety standards, and assist during regulatory inspections.
- Contribute to the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes, and work plans.
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays at other compressor locations, may be required.
