Role Overview
As an Intermediate Backend Engineer on the SSCS Add-On team at GitLab, you will play a crucial role in developing a specialized software supply chain security feature tailored for regulated enterprise organizations. Your contributions will empower customers to manage software dependencies, validate artifact integrity, and detect malicious packages prior to production deployment.
This position intersects backend engineering, product integration, and security-focused development. You will primarily work with Ruby on Rails, interface with Go services as necessary, and connect Add-On functionality with GitLab's existing security scanning experience, ensuring consistent visibility of findings for users. In our small team environment, your influence on implementation details, team practices, and the overall product experience will be significant.
This position is embedded within GitLab's all-remote, asynchronous-first, values-driven culture, where effective written communication and thoughtful coordination across various time zones are vital.
