Who You Are:3+ years of experience in software development, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related field. Proficient in one or more programming languages, including but not limited to Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, C#, or Rust. Passionate about creating tools that enhance the productivity of fellow engineers. Possess strong empathy, collaboration, and communication skills to foster relationships across diverse teams. Bonus: Active involvement in an open source community. Bonus: Familiarity with various Open Source licenses and Contributor License Agreements.

As a member of the Open Source Program Office (OSPO), you will play a pivotal role in developing tools, documentation, policies, and more to enhance our engineers' engagement with both our open source projects and third-party initiatives. Additionally, you will represent Datadog within the broader open source community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and maintain tools that facilitate the development and release of Open Source software at Datadog.
  • Develop and sustain tools for the integration of Open Source software into Datadog.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and training resources for developers on contributing to and managing open source projects.
  • Engage with open source communities to identify challenges and trends within the market.
  • Build tools to automatically analyze and report on trends and statistics from Open Source repositories.
  • Collaborate with Datadog Open Source Partners to evaluate new projects and ensure the ongoing relevance of the program.
  • Research and generate content for the Datadog Open Source Hub.
  • Provide valuable feedback on product enhancements, documentation, or code to contribute to overall product development.
