Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in water supply, distribution operations, engineering, or construction. Professional registration as a Civil or Mechanical Engineer in California is preferred. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Technical Skills and Experience:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and relevant engineering software. Solid understanding of water operations principles, planning, and management.

Essel Environmental is actively seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic team in Simi Valley, California. In this role, you will take the lead in ensuring the seamless execution of our projects while continuously seeking avenues for process enhancement. Your expertise will be pivotal in troubleshooting operational challenges, boosting system efficiency, and ensuring the integrity of system information. This position entails close collaboration with district management and engineering teams to supervise system modifications, implement water loss control strategies, and spearhead energy efficiency initiatives.

Your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Conducting thorough analyses of system operations to pinpoint opportunities for improving service quality and efficiency.
  • Supporting the forecasting of water demands and analyzing operational data utilizing hydraulic models and specialized software.
  • Formulating actionable recommendations to address operational challenges within the water distribution system.
  • Creating operational memos and maintaining up-to-date system documentation, including plans and schematics.
  • Assessing treatment system operations to optimize processes and sustain efficiency.
  • Generating detailed technical reports and collaborating with superintendents on supply forecasts and budget management.
  • Identifying and selecting replacement equipment such as pumps, motors, and control valves.
  • Reviewing and approving the work of subordinates to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Evaluating proposed system additions, upgrades, and modifications within the district.
  • Prioritizing and overseeing water audits and leak detection efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing and approving the work of third-party providers tasked with water loss control services.
