Join our dynamic team as a Production Machine Operator with a leading food production client located west of Reading. We are seeking dedicated individuals ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
While prior experience in machine operation is advantageous, we highly value candidates with backgrounds in assembly, mechanics, engineering, or factory operations as comprehensive training will be provided.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Efficiently operating production machines and auxiliary equipment, and mastering the filling and labeling processes as outlined in our Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintaining machines in optimal running condition, performing minor repairs, and executing product and line changeovers.
- Understanding and adhering to cleaning procedures, while demonstrating flexibility regarding shifts, production demands, and team collaboration.
- Following instructions from Supervisors or key operators to ensure products meet specifications and are manufactured in a hygienic manner, verifying weights, vacuum, torque, and coding accuracy for each item.
- Ensuring proper labeling and packaging for all products, and completing relevant production documentation within specified deadlines.
This role requires availability for rotating day shifts from 7 AM to 3 PM and 3 PM to 11 PM, or night shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM.
All candidates will undergo a three-month temporary-to-permanent probationary period, with the opportunity for a permanent contract alongside a salary increase.
The starting pay for day shifts is £10.69 per hour, while night shifts begin at £11.49 per hour. Experienced line setters can expect starting rates from £11.28 per hour, increasing up to £13.06 upon completion of training. We also offer transport from Reading directly to the workplace in Thatcham.
