Celcuity seeks a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and ensure financial processes remain accurate and compliant. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position leads the financial close process and focuses on both precision and efficiency. The role is remote for candidates outside Minneapolis, while those local to the area have the option for a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close cycles, delivering timely and accurate reports in accordance with US GAAP.
- Handle complex accounting matters such as revenue recognition, equity compensation, and financing activities.
- Develop and maintain internal control procedures to minimize financial reporting risks.
- Assist in preparing SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and other required reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Enhance financial systems and accounting workflows to support reliable reporting and efficient operations.
- Draft and update accounting policies and procedures to align with industry and regulatory standards.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support accounting and accounts payable teams, fostering collaboration and professional development.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Controller, Controller, and Vice President of Accounting on strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Proven expertise in financial close processes and establishing internal controls.
- Ability to work across functions to support accurate accruals and budget alignment.
- Background in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals is considered an advantage.
