Our Applied Research team in advertising plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Unity's monetization products. We are seeking a Senior Back-End Developer (distributed systems) to evolve the next generation of large-scale inference systems for Unity Ads.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our large-scale advertising models, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability of inference systems. You will collaborate closely with machine learning research teams, product, and development to build and operate the essential services that support our advertising capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance backend services, as well as distributed systems, to support large-scale model inference.
- Significantly contribute to the technical roadmap and design of our inference platform, focusing on low-latency and high-throughput services.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our production systems using monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Collaborate with data science, product, and development teams to align platform capabilities with strategic business objectives.
- Manage and optimize our cloud infrastructure (GCP) and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes.
- Promote and implement best practices for development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of backend services (DevOps, SRE).
What We're Looking For
- A degree in software development or a related technical field.
- Extensive hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems, including managing cloud infrastructure on GCP and orchestrating workloads with Kubernetes.
- Expertise in Golang to build systems and inference models.
