Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a talented Senior HDL Systems Architect to play a pivotal role in advancing our cutting-edge RF systems. This position transcends traditional FPGA development; we are looking for an experienced professional who has evolved from a strong HDL developer to a strategic systems thinker, capable of envisioning the broader context, understanding critical tradeoffs, and leading architectural design initiatives.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and enhance high-performance digital systems for various RF and antenna applications. You should excel in a collaborative, engineering-centric environment and relish the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a dynamic R&D setting where your contributions will influence real-world products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement system-level digital signal processing and control solutions utilizing HDL (Verilog, VHDL, or similar).
  • Lead design decisions from initial requirements through to system integration and validation.
  • Collaborate with RF, embedded software, and hardware teams to create cohesive and efficient systems.
  • Mentor junior HDL developers and foster a culture of technical excellence within the team.
  • Manage design documentation, simulation, and testing strategies at both the module and system levels.
  • Assess trade-offs and component selection during architectural design phases.
  • Utilize build systems and Linux environments to support hardware integration and bring-up.

Additional Information

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

The position frequently requires the use of laboratory equipment such as vector network analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers. Regular communication is essential, and specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The role may involve lifting files and equipment up to 25 pounds and using a ladder for overhead tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to support individuals with disabilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
