Key Requirements:Education: PhD preferred in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Chemical Engineering (Ch. E), Chemistry, or Physics. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Process Engineer within the Semiconductor Equipment Industry, ideally in ALD, PEALD, PECVD, or Etch. Proven expertise in their field with a solid understanding of interconnected disciplines. Familiarity with best practices and an understanding of cross-disciplinary integration, with the ability to recommend product and process enhancements. Eagerness to tackle new challenges and develop effective project execution strategies. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of approaching existing solutions with innovative thinking.

ASM is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Global Key Product Unit in Tama, Japan.

The selected candidate will become an integral part of the PECVD Process Development team, tasked with driving technological innovations and developing new processes for semiconductor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments, gather and analyze data, and compile reports on various process development initiatives.
  • Perform hardware characterization, define process windows, and analyze interactions between processes and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot complex challenges, conduct Root Cause Analysis, and resolve intricate process engineering issues.
  • Create internal and external documentation including product specifications, presentations, and technical reports.
  • Engage with customers to address challenging process engineering problems with minimal supervision.
  • Foster team collaboration and assume a leadership role in technical and theoretical communication.
