Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, particularly within the aerospace or defense sectors. Expertise in reliability physics of failure models, reliability statistics, and risk assessment methodologies. Proficient in leading reliability test planning, execution, and analysis. Strong analytical skills with experience in building reliability prediction models and finite element analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work across multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with EEE components and their manufacturing processes is a plus.

SENIOR RELIABILITY ENGINEER - STARSHIELD

Starshield utilizes SpaceX's cutting-edge Starlink technology and launch capabilities to bolster national security efforts. Unlike Starlink, which caters to consumer and commercial applications, Starshield is tailored for government use, focusing on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads.

The Senior Reliability Engineer is essential in collaborating with the design engineering team to enhance the reliability of Electrical, Electronic, Electro-mechanical, and Electro-optical (EEE) components and systems. This role ensures SpaceX can effectively utilize commercial electronics from diverse manufacturers. The engineer will assess the quality and reliability of components, mobilizing relevant teams to address unexpected component challenges and failures. Their influence will span all phases of design and production, engaging with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supply chain personnel.
