Role overview
This Legal Counsel position focuses on supporting YouLend’s expanding US business from London. The role covers commercial, product, regulatory, and corporate legal matters. It combines the energy of a startup with the backing of an established fintech company.
What you will do
- Negotiate major US partnerships with e-commerce and payment platforms.
- Draft and manage complex commercial and partnership agreements.
- Work closely with product, technology, sales, and commercial teams to provide legal guidance.
- Advise on US fintech regulations and help shape scalable product structures.
- Support new product launches and improve SME financing solutions.
- Oversee US corporate governance and structuring.
Requirements
- US-qualified attorney (New York or California preferred) with 3–5 years of experience in corporate, M&A, financing, fintech, or regulatory law at a top-tier law firm.
- Strong commercial sense and interest in fintech and embedded finance.
- Experience handling complex transactions and working across teams.
- Comfort adapting to a rapidly growing business.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in fintech or in-house legal roles.
- Knowledge of US financial regulations, especially SME financing.
- Experience in capital markets or banking.
- Work on cross-border transactions.
