About the Role:
Join our dynamic team at pavago as a WordPress Developer! In this exciting role, you will design, build, and maintain visually engaging websites using WordPress. Your expertise in theme customization, plugin development, performance optimization, and site security will be crucial in ensuring our websites are not only attractive but also optimized for speed, SEO, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Website Development:
- Design and customize WordPress sites leveraging themes, page builders (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery), or custom coding.
- Develop and manage child themes for sustainable site maintenance.
- Create tailored templates for landing pages, blogs, and content-heavy sites.
- Plugin Management & Customization:
- Install, configure, and personalize plugins for enhanced functionality (e.g., WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Contact Form 7).
- Develop or extend plugins using PHP as needed.
- Ensure seamless compatibility of plugins with themes and updates.
- Front-End & UX:
- Translate Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect WordPress pages.
- Guarantee responsive, cross-browser, and cross-device compatibility.
- Implement best practices for accessibility (WCAG standards).
- Performance Optimization:
- Enhance site speed through caching, minification, lazy loading, and CDN integration.
- Conduct performance audits with tools like Google Lighthouse, GTmetrix, or PageSpeed Insights.
- Improve Core Web Vitals to boost SEO and usability.
- Security & Maintenance:
- Regularly update WordPress, themes, and plugins.
- Fortify security using tools such as Wordfence, Sucuri, or iThemes Security.
- Establish regular backup and disaster recovery protocols.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Engage with marketing, content, and design teams to ensure web assets align with campaigns.
- Troubleshoot site issues, resolve bugs, and assist non-technical team members with CMS usage.
