What This Role Entails
Contributors will engage in diverse tasks that may include:
- Designing innovative computational statistics problems that replicate authentic mathematical research workflows;
- Developing problems that require Python programming to solve, utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy;
- Creating computationally intensive problems that cannot be manually solved within a reasonable timeframe (days or weeks);
- Formulating problems that necessitate non-trivial reasoning across various mathematical domains, including number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis;
- Grounding problems in real research challenges or practical scenarios from the field of mathematics;
- Validating solutions using Python and established mathematical libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct answers.
Desired Qualifications
This opportunity is ideal for statistics experts with Python experience seeking part-time, non-permanent project roles. The ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Statistics or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, or any programming language can be considered equivalent;
- At least 2 years of professional experience in applied statistics, research, or teaching;
- Strong written English skills (C1+ level);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience in international or applied projects are a plus.

Compensation
Contributors can earn up to $38 per hour, contingent on their level of expertise and contribution pace. Compensation may differ across projects based on their scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please be aware that other projects on the platform may offer varying earning levels based on specific requirements.
