Mindrift connects skilled professionals with project-based AI opportunities for some of the most innovative tech companies, focusing on the testing, evaluation, and enhancement of AI systems. The roles are project-based, not permanent positions.
Opportunity Overview
Each project presents distinct challenges, where contributors may be tasked with:
- Crafting original computational statistics problems that mirror authentic mathematical research workflows;
- Designing problems that necessitate Python programming for resolution (utilizing libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, Sympy);
- Ensuring problems are computationally demanding and cannot be manually solved within a reasonable timeframe (days to weeks);
- Formulating problems that require complex reasoning chains in domains such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis;
- Grounding problems in real-world research dilemmas or practical applications from the field of mathematics;
- Validating solutions using Python and standard mathematical libraries;
- Providing clear documentation of problem statements along with accurate and verified solutions.
Desired Qualifications
This position is ideal for statistics specialists with Python experience who are interested in part-time, non-permanent project work. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Statistics or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, or Stata may be considered equivalent;
- At least 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or educational settings;
- Strong written English skills (C1 or higher);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are highly regarded.
Process Overview
Application → Qualification Assessment → Project Participation → Task Completion → Compensation
Project Commitment
For this project, contributors can expect to dedicate approximately 10–20 hours per week during active phases, depending on specific project requirements. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload, applicable only while the project is ongoing.
Compensation
Contributors have the potential to earn up to $73 per hour, contingent on their level of expertise and speed of contribution. Compensation varies per project based on the scope, complexity, and expertise required. Be aware that other projects on the platform may offer differing compensation levels based on their specific demands.
