About the Role
We are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to take charge of the hardware development lifecycle for our cutting-edge camera systems and their accompanying accessories. This role, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, presents a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the evolution of our technology. You will lead and manage hardware development from initial concept and design through to manufacturing and continuous support.
Responsibilities
- Hardware Development: Direct the complete product development lifecycle from concept to production, incorporating electronics, firmware/software, and enclosure design.
- New Products: Engineer innovative products to diversify the Timescapes hardware portfolio.
- Embedded Software: Develop and maintain software for high-level applications, embedded Linux systems, and low-level microcontroller firmware.
- Existing Products: Enhance and optimize established Timescapes products.
- Partner Management: Oversee collaborations with external industrial design and contract manufacturing partners.
- Manufacturing Support: Work with manufacturing partners to supervise prototype builds, testing protocols, and production transitions.
- Supply Chain: Cultivate relationships with local and international suppliers for essential components such as batteries, modules, and cable assemblies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to facilitate production, component sourcing, and distribution.
- Documentation: Generate and maintain thorough design documentation, build instructions, test plans, and manufacturing guides.
